Question 1

What is Merge?

Accepted Answer

Merge is grant-writing software. You enter the questions a funder asks, write or assign answers, keep each one inside its word limit, get sign-off, and download the finished proposal as a PDF or Word document.

Question 2

Who is Merge for?

Accepted Answer

Solo grant writers, nonprofit development teams, and consultants who manage proposals for several clients. There is a writer track for one person and a team track for organizations that write together.

Question 3

Does Merge use AI?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Ask Merge is a writing assistant that knows your organization profile, partners, and the project you have open. The AI reviewer critiques a proposal against a funder's website and purpose statement. AI features are on paid plans only; the Free plan has none.

Question 4

How much does Merge cost?

Accepted Answer

Grant writers: Free (one grant, no AI), Starter $6.99 a month, Premium $21.99 a month, Professional $59.99 a month. Organizations: Solo Writer $14.99 a month for one person, Small Teams $12.99 per person per month for up to 5 people, Large Teams $21.99 per person per month for up to 20, and Companies $29.99 per person per month with unlimited people. Every new workspace starts with a free 14-day trial.

Question 5

Can someone approve a proposal without an account?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Send for review creates a read-only link. The reviewer reads the proposal and either approves it or requests changes with notes, with no login required.
